The Marlborough Inland Port, Honomai, builds on the foundation laid by QuayConnect, and will play a crucial role in supporting the region’s primary industries. This facility will streamline logistics, and reduce transportation costs, all while minimising our carbon footprint by enabling smarter freight solutions.
The Inland Port will provide extensive storage capacity for both full and empty containers, alongside facilities for tanker and ISO tank container washing and repairs. This comprehensive service offering is set to strengthen Marlborough's supply chain and enhance its operational efficiency.
Sustainability has been a key focus for the development of the Inland Port. Efforts are being made to reduce the need for truck journeys between facilities by using zero-emission electric tugs. Additionally, the facility has been built to Green Star standards, incorporating features such as rainwater capture for onsite use and electric vehicle charging stations for staff.
